All 12 of Clearview Federal Credit Union's branches are prepared in case a member or employee goes into cardiac arrest.
The $602 million credit union in Moon Township, Pa. said it recently installed automated external defibrillators at its 12 branches. An AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through the defibrillation.
Clearview said its ability to respond to sudden cardiac arrest depends largely on the availability of AED devices and trained employees.
