SAN DIEGO — Not just one, but two colorful "American Idol" rejects will highlighted the party this year at the annual Symitar Educational Conference and Technology Expo.

A past popular performer, William "She Bangs" Hung, will be joined this year by Renaldo Lapuz, who gained his fame by donning his cape and serenading host Simon Cowell with "Brothers Forever" during the auditions and then the final night of the 2008 season.

The "I Hung with TraceSecurity" party was held Tuesday, Aug. 26, during the Aug. 25-28 convention at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego.

The party was sponsored by TraceSecurity, a Louisiana-based provider of security compliance and risk management solutions, and CUTEK, a California-based consultancy for credit unions running on Symitar core platforms.

"It's great to come to this event and let loose a little bit before getting down to business at the Symitar conference. There's no doubt that this year's festivities, like always, will be…memorable," said Jim Stickley, CTO of TraceSecurity.

Other sponsors included Simpler-Webb, Bluepoint Solutions, NowDocs, FSSI Customer Communication Specialists, CU Executives Inc., DataMail, Teres Solutions and AgilityFour.

Liberty Bay Chooses fiVISION

BOSTON — Liberty Bay Credit Union plans to use a pair of products from fiVISION, an Indianapolis-based CUSO.

The $529 million CU will be using the accountWORKS platform for new member enrollment online and in person and to open new accounts online for existing members, and the Enrollment Cross Sell module to offer products the new member qualified for but did not select during the application process.

The account opening solution allows credit unions to choose what information they want to select and includes a decision matrix that uses information from credit bureau, antifraud and Office of Foreign Assets Control sources.

"The fiVISION enrollment and account opening solutions support applications regardless of where they come from–online, in the branch, the call center, or in the mail," said Mike Winter, president of seven-client fiVISION. "The idea is to give credit unions a platform that allows them to quickly open their memberships and accounts the same way throughout the organization."
