BEDFORD, Mass. — Phishing attacks were evenly spread among credit unions in banks in June, according to RSA Security.
The EMC division's Anti-Fraud Command Center said 30% of the "banking entities" hit by phishing attacks that month were federal credit unions, compared with 34% against national banks and 36% against regional banks.
That's a sharp departure from May, when fully half of all phishing attacks in the U.S. were against CUs, RSA said, adding that the June numbers were more typical.
RSA (www.rsasecurity.com) also said attacks were recorded against 209 different brands in June, including 36 that not been attacked before.
