DENVER — Westerra Credit Union, teamed up with a Denver consultant, Nice Enterprises Inc., said this week its "merger kit" providing strategy and consolidation planning tips to CUs across the country has won top marketing honors from the Credit Union Executives Society.

Written and produced by Westerra and Nice, the kit which debuted last fall received a Golden Mirror Award from CUES during its annual meeting last week in Minneapolis. The Westrra packet was "recognized for excellence in the CUSO Marketing Category."

The kit, which is based on experience drawn from Westerra's own merger record in Colorado, and Nice consulting background, includes online demos, 1,400 pages of support data plus 30 Excel spreadsheets and action plans. Included are 100 Adobe PDF Documents, 16 Power point presentations and 80 word documents, all adapted to specific CU needs.

"This resource is a reflection of our team's desire to help other credit unions succeed," said Westerra President/CEO C. Alan Peppers. "Prior to the merger kit, there was a real void in the industry for plans, contracts, documents, forms, presentations and models.

The Westerra/Nice team producing the kit "is truly deserving of national recognition," said a press release.
