PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Federal Credit staffers proved that a simple stroll in the park can make a difference.

The team helped raise funds for Special People in the Northeast Inc., an organization with the mission to support people with mental, physical or sensory impairments so that they may exercise responsibly their choice, preference and right, without limitation, to a fully integrated life as a citizen of the community.

Volunteers walked the grounds of Pennypack Park along the Delaware River for approximately two miles during the SPIN 2nd Annual A Stroll in the Park.

Adults, children and their pets were all welcome to participate and join in the festivities that included a complimentary brown bag lunch for everyone at the conclusion of the walk.

"What a great way to spend a Sunday morning by supporting the community and a local select employee group of the credit union," said Karen Eavis, PFCU vice president of marketing. All proceeds from the event will benefit the construction of a new play park and recreation area at SPIN's Drummond Road campus.
