ALEXANDRIA, Va. — NCUA has activated its disaster assistance effort for credit unions that have members affected by the recent spate of severe weather in Arkansas and Tennessee.
Under the policy, credit unions in the impacted area or with members in the impacted area are encouraged to make loans with special terms. The agency will also reschedule examinations for credit unions in the affected area if necessary as well as make loans and lines of credit available to CUs in the area seeking to help their members in distress.
The Bush Administration has declared that emergency exists in the impacted part of each state.
