LATHAM, N.Y. — Sunmark Federal Credit Union hosted a special guest for Thanksgiving.
Assemblyman George Amedore (R-Adirondack), who was elected for the 105th Assembly District on July 31, 2007, toured Sunmark FCU's General Electric branch Wednesday, Nov. 21 to learn about the credit union and its members. The $440 million credit union's executive team educated the freshman on the credit union difference and Sunmark's community philanthropic efforts. The credit union tax-exemption was also a topic of discussion at the meeting.
"Hosting a visit from Assemblyman Amedore gave us the opportunity to make him more aware of the credit union movement, as well as the issues and concerns that relate to our overall community," Sunmark FCU President and CEO Bruce M. Beaudette explained.
The New York State Credit Union League coordinated the visit and was represented by Vice President of Governmental Affairs Amy Kramer and Advocacy Specialist Allison Doney at the meeting.
