GAHANNA, Ohio — Effective Oct. 1, 2007 KEMBA Financial Credit Union will kickoff its "No Hats, No Hoods, No Sunglasses, and No Cell Phone" policy in branch lobbies.
Members entering KEMBA branches will be greeted with signs and posters asking them to remove any hats, hoods, or sunglasses, and to refrain from using their cell phone while any KEMBA staff member is working to serve them.
"This is the latest security measure KEMBA is adopting in an effort to keep our members and employees safe," said KEMBA President/CEO Jerry Guy. "This act of removing hats, hoods, and sunglasses in our lobbies will allow us to more easily identify anyone attempting to commit a crime."
The move is only one of several security precautions enforced by KEMBA.
In other states where similar programs have been implemented, robberies and other crimes against financial institutions have dropped significantly.
