PLYMOUTH, Mich. — The Michigan Credit Union League announced on its Web site (www.mcul.org) that the questions for its Community Reinvestment Initiative survey were distributed last week with the online survey to be posted Sept. 4.
"The goal is 100 percent credit union participation in the survey this year," said MCUL Executive Vice President Patrick La Pine in the league's Monitor. "That's a lofty aim, but there's no overstating the importance of this information." He explained that credit unions will find the results useful both in Washington, D.C.
and back home in Lansing and help defend the credit union tax-exemption.
Credit unions that complete the survey by Dec. 1 will be entered into a drawing.
The 20-question survey focuses on whether credit union boards have incorporated a social mission into the planning process and allows each credit union to tell its unique story.
