LIVONIA, Mich. — Co-op Services Credit Union has enlisted Cyveillance Inc. to help the suburban Detroit institution protect its members from phishing attacks.
The $297 million CU will depend on Cyveillance to monitor the Internet for phishing scams that could be targeting CSCU members through such means as spam and fraudulent domain name registrations. The company also guarantees it will shut down any phishing site discovered in five hours or less.
Livonia-based CSCU serves 45,000 members with branches in Livonia, Melvindale, Walled Lake, Westland, Dearborn and downriver Detroit.
Cyveillance, based in Arlington, Va., protects more than 30 million end users through financial institutions, Fortune 50 companies and partnerships that include AOL and Microsoft, the company says.
