YORK, Pa. — Members of the Y.T.W. Community Federal Credit Union have approved a merger May 26 with AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union.

The merger will be completed on July 1 and will create a CU with more than 15,000 members and more than $130 million in assets.

As an alternative to replacing its manager of 35 years, James Brown, who is retiring, Y.T.W. sought a merger partner. It choose AmeriChoice because of the "services and products they have to offer," according to the credit union.
AmeriChoice, with $115 million in assets, will expand its field of membership into York County with the merger. This past year, the CU was chartered to serve Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Perry and York counties. It currently has four branches and two student facilities.

The $18.5 million Y.T.W. has seven employees that are expected to remain with the new credit union.
