ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Registration has opened for NCUA's New Orleans Outreach Task Force Town Hall meeting, NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland announced recently. The town hall in New Orleans will be held in conjunction with the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions' annual meeting. "The Outreach Task Force meetings in Cincinnati and Boston provided an ideal format for the audience to actively participate and to have their voices heard, and I look forward to another very productive meeting in New Orleans," Hyland said. "Since no decisions have yet been made on the issues under consideration, the contributions from the credit union community during the Town Hall meetings are absolutely vital to the deliberations of the Task Force." The task force, chaired by Hyland, is an offshoot of NCUA's Member Service Assessment Pilot program, to help guide the board on the agency's next steps. New Orleans will be the third of six scheduled town hall meetings with the task force.

Participants will be given the opportunity to divide up into groups on a number of current issues, including NCUA programs and processes to encourage outreach to underserved communities; value of low-income designation; NCUA's role in encouraging outreach to the underserved; data collection on member income; and data collection on executive compensation. Each group will summarize their ideas and responses to share with the entire audience.
