MADISON, Wis. — The Filene Research Institute has found in Denise R. Gabel, a chief innovation officer. In this role Gabel will lead the Institute's innovation agenda including the Filene i3 group. A 17-year credit union industry veteran, Gabel formerly served as vice president of strategic direction for Spokane Teachers Credit Union. An inaugural member of the Filene Research Institute's national i3 group spearheading change in the credit union industry, she is a suma cum laude graduate from Eastern Washington University and a 1995 high honors graduate of Western CUNA Management School. A certified trainer for the Institute of Financial Education, Gabel is also a popular presenter with Professional Credit Union Women, the Spokane Chapter of CUs and CUNA's Center for Professional Development.

“I believe that my experiences can benefit the credit union industry worldwide and create momentum for innovation in credit unions and other industry organizations,” said Gabel.
