MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – More than 100 people came to Clearview Federal Credit Union's Web site to use its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

The $557 million Clearview FCU participated in VITA from Feb. 7 to April 13. VITA is a free Internal Revenue Service-sponsored program to help low- and moderate-income workers and the elderly file basic federal tax returns electronically and help them get tax credits they deserve.

Overall, the VITA team at Clearview helped 110 members and nonmembers file their 2005 federal income tax returns, resulting in $88,525 in refunds and $36,502 in Earned Income Credits.
