FARMERS BRANCH, Texas – Texas Credit Union League CEO Dick Ensweiler will jump out of a perfectly good airplane from 13,000 feet in the air on Dec. 18 to raise money for Texas Credit Union League's Political Action Committee. "I was elated when he said he would do this to help raise money for the PAC," said Gretchen Ziegler, TCUL PAC and political events director. "In fact I didn't waste any time planning his jump. I didn't want to give him much time to reconsider." Ensweiler will make his first-ever plunge solo, participating in something the skydive company labels their "Accelerated Free Fall.for those who want it all on their first jump, the thrill and challenge of a lifetime." He will complete 6-8 hours of classroom instruction on the day of the jump. Ensweiler refused a tandem jump, which allows a person to parachute strapped to a veteran skydiver, saying it was for the "weak at heart." Calling this TCUL PAC's most daring fundraising event to date, Ziegler hopes the stunt will raise at least $10,000 in contributions. Contributors will be able to access online video of Ensweiler's jump after he returns to ground safely. -
