RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The California Credit Union League has promoted Director of Publications Carol Payne to director of communications and marketing. The 15-year league veteran will continue to oversee the League's flagship publication CU Digest, the weekly electronic publication CU Today!, and the employment publication, CU Connections, as well as content for the League's Web site, www.ccul.org. Payne's responsibilities will now also include production of all League marketing and promotional programs. Over the years she has served as editor-in-chief, directing and coordinating all editorial, electronic, photographic and related materials for both print and online publications. Under Payne's leadership, the League's publications have won more than 50 national and international awards. "Carol has both the extensive communications experience and in-depth knowledge of credit union issues that will promote and protect the interests of California credit unions and their nine million members," said Matthew Davidson, League executive vice president. Prior to joining the League, Payne was a project manager for an HMO group. She has also worked for the California Society of CPAs, Telecommunications Association, RCA Communications, and was a research writer for KNBC News. She has an MBA in strategic management from Azusa Pacific University and a bachelor of science degree in communications and political science from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
