ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Prior to Hurricane Rita's striking Texas' East Coast, NCUA decided to delay its Access Across America Economic Empowerment Summit slated for Oct. 12 in Dallas. The agency plans to reschedule the free, one-day event in early 2006. "We are pleased with the tremendous interest in the summit and look forward to rescheduling the event early next year," said NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson. "With Hurricane Rita's impending landfall, it is likely there may be interruptions to credit union operations. While we look forward to hosting the event in Texas, we feel it would be best to postpone to a more opportune time."
