DUBLIN, Ohio – The Ohio Credit Union League has become the third state League to participate in Filene Research Institute's Real Solutions project aiming at bringing payday alternatives and other CU products to the underserved. "We have 19 credit unions who have signed up and ready to start the process," said John Florian, chief operating officer of the League which is joined in the project by the League's foundation. The Filene process involves a program of identifying products and services "in diagnostic interviews" with CU staffs which are then trained on how to reach the underserved population. The League and its Foundation signed the agreement with Filene June 2 with 22 CUs taking part in an education workshop on the venture.
