RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – The California Credit Union League has once again tapped the ranks of state elected officials to find a staffer of its own. Keri Bailey, chief of staff for state Assemblyman and Assembly Banking and Finance Committee member Ed Chavez, has been hired as the League's new state legislative and regulatory lobbyist, effective July 11. Bailey takes the place of John Van Etten who is leaving the position July 8 to attend Catholic University Columbus School of Law, Washington, D.C. Etten has served in the position for three years. As legislative and regulatory lobbyist, Bailey will be responsible for assisting the League Board, Assembly and Government Relations Committee in the development of CCUL's policy on issues and representing that position to legislative and regulatory decision makers in the California and Nevada state legislatures. Bailey will report to Ron Fong, CCUL's director of state government affairs.
