FORT WORTH, Texas – CU Members Mortgage, a mortgage provider to over 400 CUs nationwide, has created CU Solutions, its dedicated subprime department designed to assist those members with less-than-perfect credit get a mortgage loan. "Imperfect credit is not a choice people make," said CU Solutions Director Sue Parks, "it can happen for many reasons, and our policy is to treat each member with respect and understanding." CU Members Mortgage, a division of Colonial Savings, said it views its new subprime department "as a bridge to conventional financing." After demonstrating credit worthiness for 12-24 months, members will be encouraged to refinance to a lower interest rate conventional loan.
