PORTLAND, Ore. – Pacific NW Federal Credit Union Chairman Paresh Patel has been named Oregon's Small Business Person of the Year for 2005. The owner of Courtesy Vending, a company that operates vending machines throughout the Portland metro area, Patel earned an undergraduate degree and a MBA while tripling his company's revenues. He is currently working towards completing both his Ph.D. in Business Administration, and Courtesy Vending's new warehouse and corporate headquarters in North East Portland. "We are tremendously proud of Paresh's accomplishments," said Pacific NW FCU President/CEO Tom Griffith. "He is an excellent example of what dedication and hard work can achieve. I can't think of a more deserving Oregon Small Business Person of the Year." Patel will represent Oregon at the U.S. Small Business Administration's SBA Expo `05 during National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C. from April 25 to April 28.
