MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual Group has enhanced its array of retirement investment options for credit unions by introducing a mutual fund 401(k) program. Mutual Fund Retirement Choice adds 17 name-brand mutual fund families and more than 165 funds to CUNA Mutual's existing lineup of proprietary 401(k) investment funds. In addition to these, four lifestyle fund selections and a self-directed brokerage option are also available to credit unions. Those with a larger employee base can have access to "a more sophisticated benefits package, plus it complements CUNA Mutual's traditional 401(k) program offerings," said Tom Eckert, senior vice president of Employee Solutions for CUNA Mutual. Credit union feedback was instrumental in designing this new offering, Eckert said. "By coupling a wider range of retirement program options with outstanding service, we've made it easier for credit unions to customize a solution that fits their employee benefits package," Eckert said. Like CUNA Mutual's traditional retirement solution, name-brand funds are available from industry leaders, such as Dreyfus, Fidelity, Oppenheimer, Putnam, T. Rowe Price, and Templeton, he added. CUNA Mutual manages more than 5,000 pension and 401(k) plans nationwide, serving more than 150,000 credit union employees.
