CENTENNIAL, Colo. - Two billion dollar-plus credit unions - Bellco CU and Bethpage FCU - are teaming up to form a new technology CUSO that will focus on products and support surrounding data processor Open Solutions' core system. Bellco is already on the OSI system, and Bethpage converted to OSI from AFTECH last weekend. The name of the new CUSO is Open Technology Solutions, LLC. It already has a staff of approximately 25, a mix of Bellco employees and new hires from the outside. Mike Atkins, Bellco's former CIO, is heading up the new CUSO as CEO. The CUSO is open to adding more credit unions, yet not too many. "We're only interested in doing this with a limited number of like-minded credit unions," said Bethpage FCU President/CEO Kirk Kordeleski. He said they would likely have to be in the billion-dollar range to take advantage of the types of things the CUSO will be working on.
