WASHINGTON-NCUA Chairman Dennis Dollar and the other federal financial depository institution regulators have been asked to provide the Senate Banking Committee with a report on the state of the institutions that they regulate. According to Nick Owens, special assistant to the chairman for public relations, Dollar received the invitation from Senate Banking Committee Chairman Richard Shelby mid-week for the hearing, scheduled for Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. The regulators are expected to discuss the effects of the economy on their industries, changes resulting from the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, capital adequacy, and the function of the regulatory structure.
