LAS VEGAS – Diana Dykstra, president/CEO of Vandenberg FCU, Lompoc, Calif. was elected the new chairman of Credit Union Direct Lending during the auto lending network's annual symposium here June 18-20. She succeeds John Merlo, president/CEO, Premier America CU, Chatsworth, Calif. Prior to being elected chairman, Dykstra served on the CUDL Board as vice chairman. She also serves as second vice chair for the California Credit Union League and is a board member for Prime Alliance Solutions. Dykstra joined VFCU in 2000. Before that she was senior vice president at Patelco CU, San Francisco, Calif. where she was responsible for developing member education programs. She was also CEO of Patelco's CUSO operations. Before coming to Patelco, she worked for 15 years at The Golden 1 CU, Sacramento, Calif. where she was instrumental in developing many of the CU's successful lending programs and the automation of Patelco's lending process.
