CHAPIN, S.C. – PM Systems Corp. has added a new console to its WebFederal2 online banking system that allows credit unions to monitor intrusion attempts at the same time as their ASP providers are doing the watching back at the secured home-banking site. The company's new accessible intrusion detection console allows CUs to see details of an attack simply by clicking on a "magnifying glass" icon to the right of the event. "This link accesses a knowledge base with detailed information about the nature of the intrusion attempt. The intrusion detection system also gives credit union personnel the ability to contact the ISP supporting the offensive activity via a lookup of the ISP's e-mail address," said Robert Broadwell, PM Systems Corp. vice president. "As far as I know we are the only Internet banking service provider offering this capability," Broadwell said. One side benefit is the ability to easily show NCUA and local regulators that the CU is complying with rules regarding IT security, he added.
