LATHAM, N.Y. – The May 6 edition of the Legislative Gazette, the weekly newspaper of the New York State government, featured a 10-page credit union section created by the New York State Credit Union League that highlighted the league's legislative agenda and the most important issues facing credit unions. The timing of the special section was deliberate – it ran two weeks before League's Governmental Affairs Conference which will be held in Albany, May 20-22. The section contained op-ed articles on the Excelsior Linked Deposit program, municipal deposits, tax parity for state-chartered credit unions, and predatory lending. It also featured pieces on the credit union difference, New York Credit Union foundation, Empire Corporate FCU's services to New York CUs, community involvement stories, and New York State CU statistics. The Legislative Gazette has a circulation of more than 15,000.
