The 273,000 members of the $3.7 billion Patelco Credit Union in Pleasanton, Calif., can now deposit checks with their iPhones or Android devices.
The 40-branch Patelco calls the service Anywhere Deposit and it’s through the credit union’s mobile technology provider, MShift of Fremont, Calif.
“By giving members the freedom and convenience of making secure, real-time deposits from their smartphones, our Anywhere Deposit feature will make a significant difference in our members’ lives, by reducing the frequency of in-person bank visits and speeding up the deposit process,” said Ryan Misasi, Patelco’s chief operating officer.
There is no fee for using Anywhere Deposit, the credit union said, adding that message and data rates may apply depending on the member’s cellular plan.
