In addition to extended hours, Mountain America said it will offer $125 bonuses to consumers who open a new checking account on Bank Transfer Day.
Consumers can receive $125 when they open a new checking account at Mountain America on, or before Saturday, Nov.5, the CU said. A coupon for the cash bonus, and a list of participating branch locations, can be found on Mountain America’s website at www.macu.com/switch.
“This is a great opportunity for consumers to see what credit unions have to offer,” said Jason Rogers, Mountain America’s senior vice president of branch administration. “We’re confident that they’ll see we are the best option for financial services, because Mountain America, and other credit unions, generally offer higher returns on savings, lower rates on loans and lower or no fees compared to other financial institutions.”
Rogers said while the $2.9 billion, 366,000-member Mountain America in Salt Lake City already has Saturday drive-up service at many locations, the credit union will extend its lobby hours this Saturday for Bank Transfer Day.
