Members of San Diego County Credit Union can now deposit checks via their Android or iPhone devices.

The $5.4 billion SDCCU said it's the first San Diego-based credit union to offer mobile remote deposit capture.

The service is available to the credit union's 225,000 members through registration at its online banking site.  SDCCU uses the Corillian Internet banking platform from Fiserv Inc., which also is providing the mobile tools.

"Our customers now have total convenience and don't need to rely on a branch or an ATM to make deposits. This free and convenient eService provides our customers with the latest in mobile technology," said SDCCU President/CEO Teresa Halleck.
