Greylock Federal Credit Union, Pittsfield, Mass., announced the appointment of two new executives to its risk management team. Jodi Rathbun-Briggs has been hired as Greylock's assistant vice president/risk management. She brings with her more than 16 years of experience in internal audit, risk management and commercial lending, most recently serving 10 years at Legacy Banks. George Austin was recruited to fill the position of assistant vice president/loan review officer. Austin has over 21 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently at Berkshire Bank serving as vice president of loan review and credit officer. His new position will support loan review and quality control functions for consumer and real estate loans.
Service Credit Union, Portsmouth, N.H., said that President/CEO Gordon Simmons was elected chairman of the Armed Forces Financial Network board of directors at the group's annual meeting. He succeeds outgoing chairman Greg Oveland for a two-year term. Simmons has served on the AFFN board of directors since 1997. During his tenure he has held the positions of chairman, vice chairman and audit committee member along with being an active volunteer member. Simmons has more than 40 years of credit union experience, including 36 years with Service Credit Union. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in business and the University of Utah with an MBA in quantitative analysis. He is the immediate past chairman and currently serves as a board member of the Defense Credit Union Council and is also a past board chairman of the New Hampshire Credit Union League. Simmons also serves as chairman of the board for America's Credit Union Museum.

FORUM Credit Union, Indianapolis, announced the promotion of Jeff Welch, senior vice president of finance, to chief financial officer. Welch replaces Bill Dailey who announced his retirement last month. Welch joined FORUM in January 1998 and has held the positions of controller, vice president of finance, and senior vice president of finance. Jeff gained his MBA from Anderson University. He has 25 years of experience in the credit union industry, having worked for two other credit unions prior to his employment with FORUM.
GCS Federal Credit Union, Granite City, Ill., announced the results of its board of directors election at its annual meeting last month. Re-elected to serve two-year terms as directors were Bob Marcus, Cecil Williams, Robert Lyles, Harvey Scarsdale, Tom Grady and Shirley Ochoa. Re-elected to serve a two-year term as representative of the credit committee was Nick Huniak. Continuing officers for 2011 are Harvey Scarsdale, chairman, Ron Jarrett, vice chairman, Jim Devine, treasurer, and George Mitchell, secretary. An estimated 150 members attended the meeting.
Kemba Credit Union, West Chester, Ohio, announced that Stephen G. Behler, president/CEO, has been elected to the CUNA board of directors. Behler has served as Kemba's chief executive since 2000 and has 32 years of credit union experience. He is the immediate past chair of the Ohio Credit Union League and is a member of the Credit Union Executive Council for the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors and holds the position of secretary. He is active in the credit union movement, volunteers his time and talents to credit union organizations, and continues to be involved in political activities.
Consumers Credit Union, Kalamazoo, Mich., has hired Jim McIntyre as vice president of business services. McIntyre's responsibilities include steering the growth and vision of Consumers' business services program. McIntyre earned a BBA and MBA at Western Michigan University. His previous work experience includes vice president of commercial real estate for National City Bank and vice president of commercial loans and group manager for Fidelity Savings Bank/Standard Federal. Before joining Consumers, McIntyre served as director of development for Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business.

BrightStar Credit Union, Pembroke Pines, Fla., has named Carlos Brito sales manager of the Pembroke Pines branch. Brito's career in the credit union industry includes over 20 years of experience in customer service, branch operations, business development, and mortgage and consumer lending. Previously, he served as branch manager with Broward Healthcare Federal Credit Union in Fort Lauderdale.
Credit Union of Georgia, Woodstock, Ga. has appointed Alan Thrall to director of risk management. In his new role, Thrall will oversee the risk management department, working to control and reduce delinquency according to the overall strategic plan. Thrall served as interim director of risk management since the summer of 2010. Thrall has more than 25 years of experience in the credit union and banking industries. He holds a bachelor's in accounting and finance from Florida State University.
SAFE Federal Credit Union, Sumter, S.C., announced that Penny Pratt was promoted to senior vice president of lending and sales. She joined SAFE in 2007 as vice president of lending, responsible for consumer and real estate lending activity, policies, procedures and products. In addition to her lending responsibilities, she now oversees the credit and debit card services area and leads sales efforts and initiatives for the credit union. Prior to SAFE, Pratt was national sales director for Xerox Federal Credit Union in Rochester N.Y. She has 25 years of experience in the financial industry and an MBA from State University of New York, Empire State College.
