Georgia Federal Credit Union's annual statewide Paintball Tournament to benefit the Credit Union Political Action Committee continued to be a popular alternative to the more traditional golf tournament fundraiser.
This was the eighth year that GFCU has hosted the tournament and has invited other credit union employees and sponsors to participate. This year's tournament consisted of 10 teams with 76 participants that competed for the top spot in a round robin elimination tournament. The event was held at Paintball Atlanta in Alpharetta on Nov. 6.
"Each GFCU Paintball Tournament to benefit CUPAC has proven to be a huge success. People in general love a good competitive game, but it's even better when you're playing to raise money for a great cause," said Warren Butler, GFCU's president/CEO.
Tournament participants and corporate sponsors donated funds to help GFCU raise about $9,000 with donations continuing to be received.
Georgia Federal Credit Union, based in Duluth, Ga., has more than $625 million in assets and 13 branch locations. GFCU serves employees and family members of over 500 select employee companies and school systems, including the University of Georgia.
