Mobile banking continues to grow in popularity as cell phone adoption becomes nearly universal among American adults, according to a new survey from the Mobile Marketing Association.

The trade group said its latest monthly survey of 1,000 adult U.S. consumers, conducted in mid-January by Luth Research, found that 92% of them have cell phones and 19% of them use mobile banking, translating to 17% for the overall population.

The MMA also said the latest results in its U.S. Consumer Briefing also found that interest levels suggest that mobile usage will grow to 22% within the next year.
