MANCHESTER, N.H. — Bellwether Community Credit Union has honored Paul C. Wenger for his 43 years of volunteer service to the credit union by naming its annual volunteer award the Paul C. Wenger Volunteer of the Year award.
Wenger joined the credit union as a director in 1965 while working at New England Telephone. During his tenure, the credit union grew from $1.5 million in assets to $282 million and went from serving 2,100 members to over 20,000 members.
Wenger served in many roles including director, supervisory committee member, supervisory committee chairman, credit committee member, and retirement plan trustee.
“Paul led by example and could be counted on to provide sound oversight and leadership in each role he held. Paul, like a true credit union volunteer, always put our members' interests first. The members of the credit union were fortunate to have Paul representing them for over four decades,” said Bellwether President/CEO Michael L'Ecuyer.
