REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Sunnyvale-based Fortinet Inc. is now providing integrated security appliances to San Mateo Credit Union.
The 62,000-member CU is using the FortiGate-60 appliances in its network of in-branch computers that allow members to online bank and surf the Internet. The appliances include anti-virus and spam protections, as well as firewalls and intrusion detection.
The Silicon Valley company's FortiGate-800 device is being used to provide Web content filtering, firewall, anti-virus, and spam protection for internal network traffic at San Mateo CU. Another Fortinet solution is being used to manage the overall system.
"We can now easily see what's traversing the network at any of our branches and are able to see many attacks that are being successfully blocked," said Pete Kneisler, vice president of information systems at $613 million San Mateo CU.
