WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Pacific Service Credit Union has donated $5,000 to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum for the Animals in the Classroom program. The donation will be used to provide museum tours and outreach programs for economically disadvantaged schools in Contra Costa and Alameda counties.

"Programs like Animals in the Classroom offer children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn about the world in which they live due to lack of funds," said Tom Smigielski, president of Pacific Service CU. "Lindsay Wildlife Museum has created a program that reaches out to low-income children with live animals and artifacts and helps them increase their understanding of the environment and meets scholastic course requirements, and we are pleased to be able to support their efforts."

The $1 billion Pacific Service CU has partnered with the Lindsay Wildlife Museum to bring educational programs to low-income schools since 2002. The CU has sponsored dinosaur exhibits, wildlife science tours, outreach programs, and other projects. Since 2002, Pacific Service has donated more than $20,000 to Lindsay Wildlife Museum.
