FORT WORTH, Texas — On Aug. 1, CUNA Mutual Group has broken ground on its new Customer Operations Center.
Touted as a way to "reinvent service delivery to credit unions", the state-of-the-art 108,000 square-foot facility will be located at CentrePort Business Park and can potentially house some 700 employees.
"We are excited and eager to begin building this state-of-the-art customer service model in Fort Worth," said CUNA Mutual President/CEO Jeff Post. "CUNA Mutual will test new technologies and work processes, as we build our customer service office of the future. This ambitious initiative will result in a substantially improved level of service to our credit union customers, in addition to bringing quality careers to the Fort Worth area."
Initially, the new facility will house CUNA Mutual's Collateral Protection Insurance customer service operations. As part of the service delivery revamping of its call center, claims and product administration functions at the Fort Worth site, plans are underway for the technology and work processes developed here to be implemented at other CUNA Mutual customer service centers.
On hand at the groundbreaking ceremony was American Airlines Federal Credit Union CEO John Tippets, who welcomed CUNA Mutual to the neighborhood. The AAFCU corporate headquarters is only a short walk from the Customer Operations Center construction site.
Spring 2007 is the expected completion date for the $12 million project.
