DALLAS – Security vendor Entrust and Addison Avenue Federal Credit Union have reached an amicable agreement and settled Entrust's patent infringement lawsuit against the CU. Entrust sued Addison Avenue in March after learning of the CU's two-factor authentication product for online services. Entrust claimed Addison Avenue infringed on its grid authentication patent. Addison Avenue has agreed to license the Entrust IdentityGuard product and all claims and counterclaims in the case have been dropped. The case does raise questions about other organizations' two-factor methodologies, as many are employing some version of the grid-like system.
