BROCKTON, Mass. – Local small and medium-size businesses will be courted by HarborOne Credit Union through its new line of services. On April 3, the $1.3 billion credit union began offering a number of services including business deposit accounts, business loans and lines of credit, online banking services, business debit and credit cards, as well as referrals to payroll services and to merchant credit card services. "There are many small and medium sized businesses in the area, including home-based businesses that would benefit from our services," said James Blake, president/CEO of HarborOne. "This is a natural expansion of (the credit union's) business." The small business banking services will be managed by Kevin Brower, HarborOne's business services officer. Having spent the past seven years as business development manager at the credit union, Brower's experience also includes business manager and sales manager for Champion Lincoln Mercury Mazda of Brockton. As part of its new program, HarborOne has also expanded its deposit products for businesses, including two checking accounts and a high interest savings account. In addition, business customers may view their deposits and loans online free of charge. "Our fast turnaround time on loans – three days in most cases – and the simple application process will be a big improvement compared to other financial institutions," Blake said. "We also have better rates and fewer fees, and we think small business owners will find us to be a breath of fresh air to deal with."
