In a bid to help Lousiana credit union CEOs and staff who lost everything in what the American Red Cross called the worst natural disaster since Superstorm Sandy, the Louisiana Credit Union League has issued a challege to its credit unions.
NAS JRB Credit Union in New Orleans was the first cooperative to kick off the Louisiana CU Strong Challenge, #LACUStrong, by donating $1,000 to the Louisiana Foundation.
The challenge is simple. Match or beat NAS JRB CU's donation and record one member of your credit union team complete 20 pushups in support of the estimated 20 branches that sustained damages during the historic floods that ravaged southeast Louisiana.
The largest donation in each asset category among Louisiana credit unions will be awarded a free lunch hosted by the league, along with bragging rights. Louisiana credit unions that donate more than a $1,000 will receive a free registration for league's webinar of their choice.
In addition, Louisiana credit unions that donate to the foundation through the challenge will receive a special sweet treat delivered by a league team member, and all donors will receive recognition in League publications.
