The $72 million Unity Catholic Federal Credit Union has wrapped up its six-week Real Money, Real World program for seventh-graders at St. Charles Borromeo School in the Cleveland suburb of Parma. The highlight was a Reality Day event on Monday. Each student assumed the role of a married 25-year-old and moved from booth to booth where volunteers helped guide them through decisions on expenses such as childcare, insurance, housing, entertainment, clothing, utilities, food and transportation. Students deducted the expenses from their checkbook in hopes of finishing with a positive balance.
