The NCUA is scheduled to unveil final rules on what information credit unions must disclose to credit reporting agencies and hear a report on the health of the NCUSIF at its meeting next Tuesday.

The rules will also discuss how consumers can challenge information from credit unions in their credit reports. NCUA, the Federal Trade Commission and other regulators are required to issue the rules under a provision of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

The board is also scheduled to vote on whether to issue an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, seeking further comment on the definition of "integrity" under this provision of the act.

The report on the NCUSIF is closely watched because of both the impact of the recession on the health of credit unions and the impact of the agency's recent actions to shore up the corporate credit union system.

The board is also scheduled to issue proposed changes to the Unfair and Deceptive Practices rules.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 10:00 am at the agency's headquarters in Alexandria Virginia.

The board has scheduled an executive session to deal with three appeals-one on insurance, one on a creditor claim and one on a dividend issue–and on a supervisory issue.
