ARLINGTON, Va. — NAFCU is reporting record attendance at many of its conferences, including its upcoming Annual Conference in Honolulu.

Attendance so far for NAFCU's 40th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 17-21, is surpassing even the last time the group held this event in Hawaii. "Absolutely we're tracking ahead of previous years, 400 or so ahead of last time we went to Hawaii," NAFCU Executive Vice President Pat Morris said.

Registration is climbing so high the group has already added an overflow hotel to accommodate the nearly 1,400 registrants as of deadline.

NAFCU's 26th Annual Volunteers Conference in Newport, R.I. earlier this month also saw attendance go "through the roof," Morris added. This was the first year that registration for the Volunteers Conference had to be closed and room blocks in two overflow hotels reserved to accommodate delegates and their guests were full. With 497 attendees, registration was just four shy of the record set in 1999.

NAFCU's annual Regulatory Compliance School, held in Washington the first week of April, also boasted record attendance with over 100 students for the first time this year. The school was so popular this spring that a temporary waiting list had to be established.
"NAFCU conference attendance is doing incredibly well this year," Morris said. "We will continue to look for ways to accommodate the increased desire for credit unions to attend future NAFCU
conferences."
