Mike Welch had a background in credit unions and publishing and an observation: Credit union professionals and volunteers needed an independent source of industry news to inform and propel their success. To fill that niche, he founded Credit Union Times weekly magazine, and published the first issue in 1990. We have had the privilege of fulfilling that mission for the last 25 years.
Over the years Credit Union Times magazine expanded to CU Times, an all-encompassing brand that covers a host of platforms to support the credit union community: CUTimes.com, the leading independent news and information site for the credit union community; awards and recognition programs such as our annual Trailblazer Awards, Trailblazers 40 Below, and Women to Watch; educational webcasts; social media and more. Credit unions have evolved along with us, in so many areas from technology to regulation to products and services. This special 25th anniversary section will highlight all of that and more.
