Numerica Employees Volunteer Time to Paint
SPOKANE, Wash. — Numerica Credit Union employees not only contributed a donation for paint supplies to Lilac Services for the Blind, but also volunteered to help paint the organizations headquarters.
Numerica donated $500 for painting supplies and then wanted to help the organization’s preparation for filming public service announcements starring Patti Duke by painting the headquarters.

Texans CU and FC Dallas Host Soccer Clinic
RICHARDSON, Texas — Texans Credit Union partnered with Major League Soccer team FC Dallas to host a soccer clinic for young members.
FC Dallas players Michael Dello-Russo, Kenny Cooper, Pablo Richetti and Chase Wileman taught members ages 6-12 various soccer skills and hosted an autograph session after the camp. Over 50 children attended the clinic.

PFCU Employees Spruce Up Friends Hospital
PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia Federal Credit Union employees spent an afternoon gardening at Friends Hospital.
Employee volunteers planted a variety of plants, trees and shrubs on the hospital’s 100-acre campus. Adults and children of all ages participated in light gardening activities such as raking, weeding, mulching and trimming.
Friends Hospital was founded by Quakers in 1813 and is the nation’s first private psychiatric hospital. Friends offers a system of comprehensive programs and services to people suffering from behavioral and emotional health problems.

State Rep. Byrum Visits CASE CU School Branch
LANSING, Mich. — CASE Credit Union hosted a visit by State Rep. Barb Byrum to the its in school branch at the Capital Area Career Center.
Students have the opportunity at the in school branch to earn college credit as well as potential employment with the credit union. Rep. Byrum visited with students participating in their internship at the branch as well as students in the classroom.

CUAC Hosts Annual Golf Tournament
ARVADA, Colo. — The Credit Union Association of Colorado held its Credit Union Foundation of Colorado and Wyoming’s Annual Spring Golf Tournament at its 74th Annual Meeting and Convention.
At the Broadmoor Resort and Spa in Colorado Springs over 500 credit union attendees, guests, and vendors representing 62 credit unions attended the convention. The golf tournament had over 140 participants playing one flight of golf on the East Course at The Boradmoor, which will host the 29th U.S. Senior Open in July.
All proceeds from the tournament benefited the foundation’s various programs.

Telcoe FCU Donates to Victims
CLINTON, Ark. — Telcoe Federal Credit Union partnered with the Arkansas Credit Union Foundation to give donations to employees of Ozark Health who were victims of a tornado.
Many of the employees lost their homes, and some lost loved ones. The tornado was part of a series that rampaged across Arkansas and the southeastern United States killing 52 people, 13 of which were in Arkansas.

Eagle One Honors Scholarship Winners
PHILADELPHIA — Eagle One Federal Credit Union honored the winners of its 9th Annual Charles R. Nuss Memorial Scholarships.
Eagle One awarded four scholarships of $500 and winners were introduced to the members and received a plaque. Since 1999, Eagle One has awarded $16,000 in scholarship money in the name of the late Charles R. Nuss, a longtime officer at the credit union.

AmeriChoice FCU Invites Students to Come to Work
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union invited students to the credit union that may not have had the opportunity to go to work with their parents on National Bring Your Child to Work Day.
Students from the Nativity School of Harrisburg, an independent middle school for boys of low-income families from the city of Harrisburg spent the day with the staff at AmeriChoice. Students conducted detailed interviews with Kipp Stecher, CEO and Executive staff, took a tour of the corporate headquarters, and attended their very first business lunch.

Pacific Crest FCU Creates New Youth Accounts
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union designed three new youth accounts for National Credit Union Youth Week.
The new accounts were Pacific Crest Trailblazers from birth to 14 years old, Pacific Crest Pathfinders from ages 15-18 and Pacific Crest Passageways for young adults 19-24.
Activities at the credit union during youth week included estimation jars and drawings for each age group for a robotic dog, iPod Shuffle, and iPod Nano. Materials were also provided to the parents on teaching their youth about money and a list of books were available.
