November 17, 2009 US FCU Employees Compete to Kiss the GoatIn a fundraising competition, US Federal Credit Union employees voted on which executive employees should have to kiss a goat.
The credit union participated in the Combined Federal Campaign to raise money for charity through a variety of department competitions. Each team departments at the credit union developed creative ways to raise money to win the title of top team. Employees participated in bake and craft sales, penny wars and the kiss the goat event. Seven executive management employees volunteered to be voted on to see who would get to kiss the goat. In total the credit union raised $20, 691.57 in the month-long campaign.
Marty Kelly, senior vice president of marketing and business development, and Leon Eichten, senior vice president and chief financial officer, were the winters. Other employees, including President/CEO Bill Raker, volunteer to kiss the goat as well.

November 09, 2009 E Federal Credit Union Crowns Competition WinnerE Federal Credit Union announced the winner of its Lose To Win: Financial Edition competition.
The winner, Kristi Smith a single mother of two, made a $34,000 change in her eight-month financial makeover reality show competition. The competition featured four Baton Rouge, La. families. Smith reduced her debt by $22,000, increased her savings by $12,000 and increased her credit score by 50 points.

November 02, 2009 First Community CU Teaches Finance at FestivalFirst Community Credit Union held its first annual Fall Harvest Festival that featured interactive financial literacy games.
The event was incorporated using the Earn-Save-Spend component. Children received goodie bags at the event filled with “cash bucks” that could be spent any way they wished as long as it was within their budget. The children received a list of activities and games at the event that they could spend their money on, a “Rocking Cash” coloring page and a “How Can I Earn Money” list suggesting ways they could earn money at home and in their community.
Children dressed up in costumes and were able to play two games. The “Watch Your Money Grow” game is a kid-sized, hands-on game board where Tree House Club aged members could follow the growth of money they invested. The “Rock The Facts…Beat The Fiction” is a question and answer game for Club House aged members.
