Credit Union Times Careers By State 

The South Carolina Credit Union League has just announced the search for a new President/Chief Executive Officer to replace the incumbent who will retire at the end of 2009. The President will be charged with oversight of all aspects of the association and its affiliated service corporation. The President will foster and perpetuate the credit union movement in the state of South Carolina through effective advocacy and lobbying at the state and federal level with regard to legislation that may affect credit unions and their members. This will require strong representational relationships with credit unions to assist them in identifying and meeting the challenges and the ability to evaluate appropriate products and services to further provide quality and diversity in addressing their needs. The President will bring progressive strategic initiatives before the board of directors while working closely with league staff to develop and maintain a robust operating environment to better serve the membership. As a relationship driven leader, the President will strive to maintain high level commitment and communication with all the states credit unions.

Candidates will be required to have knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations affecting credit union operations and be familiar with pending changes that impact credit union operations. Successful candidates will preferably have 5-7 years of senior management experience in a state trade association or credit union environment with a focus on advocacy, operational oversight and political action.
