Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union has bought some high-tech tools to help with the snail mail.
The QAS Pro Web solution from Experian will be used on PEFCU’s Web site
(www.purdueefcu.com) to ensure address accuracy entered by members
online, while QAS Professional Services will run the addresses of all
57,000 members against the company’s NCOALink file.
That will help ensure quarterly compliance with Move Update bulk
mailing rules from the U.S. Postal Service, the credit union and
company said.
“We realized it was taking a long time for our staff to work through
returned mail,” said Michelle Gustin, IT services manager at $557
million PEFCU in West Lafayette, Ind. “With cleaner, more standardized
addresses, we anticipate seeing not only a reduction in returned mail,
but also a higher success rate of members receiving communication,”
Gustin said.
“Contact data entered by members themselves on a Web site is often the
worst data in a database,” said Joel Curry, chief operating officer for
Boston-based Experian QAS. “By cleaning this data on the front end
Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union will not only make its Move
Update compliance more effective, but also improve overall member
communication efforts.”
