Software Company & CU Direct Form Auto Inventory Partnership

CU Direct announced Wednesday that it will incorporate a Long Island company’s software to manage all 2.5 million vehicles now in dealer inventory on CU Direct’s AutoSMART online shopping site.

The agreement makes Inventory Command Center LLC the exclusive vehicle inventory management partner for CU Direct, an auto lending CUSO based near Los Angeles.

Inventory Command Center is a software-as-a-service provider based in Bohemia, N.Y. Its website says the platform was “developed over the last 12 years as a necessity to help dealers better communicate the value proposition of their inventory to consumers.”

Kenny DellaPorta, Inventory Command Center CEO, said the Command Center was designed to reduce the need for custom development, instead allowing front-line support personnel to manage and update inventory.

“Our goal is to help clients take more control of their own data needs,” DellaPorta said. “The Command Center’s easy-to-use interface bridges our partner’s desire for greater flexibility with an almost real-time ability to change how information is presented – regardless of how the original data source may have been received.”

The company says it that its platform reduces time for setting up new dealers or updating inventory to “only minutes as opposed to weeks.” Changes can then propagated across the web almost immediately.

For CU Direct, the platform allows its AutoSMART website to better present the true value of a vehicle.

“This in turn keeps consumers engaged longer and increases conversion,” CU Direct said in a news release. “Additionally, the structured nature of ICC data provides the AutoSMART team with a unique ability to enhance how data is presented and searched.”

For example, consumers can use priority options and specific vehicle features to narrow their searches.
