Tech Update: Kony, Netsurion & Burroughs Announce Upgrades
A mini tech roundup finds a new app platform for Kony, a new website interface for Burroughs, and enhancements to the Netsurion Partner Program for point-of-sale resellers and retail technology providers.
Austin, Texas-based mobility solutions company Kony, announced release of V8 of its Kony AppPlatform offering aimed at helping professional and citizen developers simplifying the app development and deployment process in order meet the ever-increasing demand for apps within organizations and to improve the omnichannel experience.

According to the firm, among the features the Kony AppPlatform V8 offers users is a patented Cross Platform API, faster cross-platform design and development; the capability to drag reusable components from the library or Kony Marketplace, or import designs directly from Photoshop; over 100 pre-built components; the capacity to integrate 100% of the native OS or any available open-source and third-party framework, or choose a pre-built template; full omnichannel support for phone, tablet, responsive web and desktop native apps; flexible omnichannel layout capabilities using familiar CSS layout options; the ability to support future experiences like chatbots, voice, augmented reality; cloud-based preview and stakeholder collaboration with Kony App Preview; and the ease and speed of backend integration.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Netsurion, a provider of remotely-managed data and network security services announced enhancements to the Netsurion Partner Program for POS resellers and retail technology providers. Features include advanced threat protection and 4G cellular-failover offerings and updates to the partner portal.
By enabling these partners to deliver network security, resilience, and compliance, along with managed threat detection and response, Netsurion explained it is putting affordable and effective cybersecurity within reach of any-size merchant business.
Benefits from the new features, include managed threat detection and response solution, SIEM-at-the-Edge, which protects the frequently vulnerable edge locations of an enterprise; Network Resilience with Cellular Failover to detect network disruptions and switch traffic to 4G cellular to ensure merchants continue to process transactions with no down time; and on the support side, Netsurion enhanced its partner portal to streamline sales opportunity registration and order processing.
The partner program now also provides referral opportunities for payment processors, merchant service providers, and ISOs that do not directly deal in IT services but have interest in ensuring the security of merchants' payment networks.

The new website includes support ticket submission options, direct access to the eAccess Customer Web Portal and a press room. “We focused on building a website which illustrates our mission of customer service,” director of marketing and sales support Sandy Edwards, said. “The new site combines an overview of our company with a wealth of tools for our clients.”
